Zusammenfassung:
The following research aims to estimate the Gini coefficient, the Kernel distribution and the counterfactual decomposition of inequality in Bolivia. The methodology estimates the Gini coefficient, the kernel function, and the Shapley decomposition by using data from the 2022 Household Survey conducted by the National Institute of Statistics (INESAD). Bolivia's estimated Gini coefficient of 0,42 indicates a moderate level of inequality. By area of residence, a significant disparity is observed between urban areas (0,39) and rural areas (0,48). Tarija holds the lowest coefficient (0,38), indicating a more equitable income distribution. On the other end, Potosí holds the highest value at 0,53. The bandwidth of 96,2385 indicates that each income value contributes to estimating the density of nearby values within ±96,24 units. The results obtained through Shapley decomposition show a high dependence on labor income as the main predictor.
