Abstract (Translated):
The objective of this research was to understand the specificities of the production structures of family farming in the North region, in its multi-scale forms, regarding aspects of specialization and location in 2017. To this end, it is questioned whether or not family farming in the North region is following the paths of family farming in the Central-West region. As results found, it is verified for the specific, but not unique, case of family farming in the North region in 2017, its production structure, even presenting certain characteristics of crops related to agricultural commodities, with just over 19% of the total VBPA related to export crops. Even so, this participation was lower than that verified for the Central-West region which was almost 77% of the VBPA of family farming in the Central-West. In turn, the five main crops of family farming concentrate almost 70% of the VBPA of agricultural production in the North region, while the eleven main ones accounted for 95% of the VBPA of the region. In 2017, cassava cultivation was responsible for 31.5% of the total VBPA of family farming production in the North region, followed by açaí, coffee, banana and black pepper.
