Abstract:
This article presents the results of a systematic literature review aimed to identify articles, using Web of Science, from over 250 journals focusing on supply chain finance (SCF). We carried out a further content analysis of 161 papers on working capital and trade credit, identifying gaps to propose areas for additional research. To understand the current state of the art in SCF and working capital research, we counted the frequencies of keywords in the articles, finding that "capital-constrained" and "replenishment" were the most commonly used field-specific terms. Our study demonstrates that the working capital structure, capital constraints, and financial performance of SMEs are of paramount importance, particularly in Taiwan.
