Zusammenfassung:
Scientific information is elementary for human development processes. The creation and control of information may be an important determinant of development, and besides creating a competitive advantage, also result in increasing disparities in economic and social development. Challenges in the diffusion of scientific information will be discussed in the context of the importance of funding and property rights. Based on two case studies, the authors address the importance of oversimplification and the problem of manipulation of information.
