Zusammenfassung (übersetzt):
This article collects data from 1,521 individuals living in the Distrito Federal (Brazil) in the period August/2009 to October/2009. The survey interviews individuals about their socio economic characteristics, happiness status and sexual activity. After that a multinomial logit model is estimated to verify the main determinants of happiness. The econometric results suggest that i) women are happier than men; ii) income is positively (and statistically significant) correlated with male`s happiness, but it is statistically insignificant to explain female`s happiness; iii) religious is important to explain female`s happiness (but insignificant for male`s); and iv) envy people are less happy than non-envy individuals.
