Abstract: 
Der vorliegende Beitrag zeigt verschiedene Möglichkeiten auf, um repräsentative Renditen für die Anlageklasse Immobilien berechnen zu können. Betrachtet werden Indizes auf der Basis (i) von regelmäßig bewerteter Immobilienportefeuilles, (ii) auf Basis von Markttransaktionen in Immobilien und (iii) auf Basis der Wertentwicklung börsennotierter Immobilienaktiengesellschaften.
Abstract (Translated): 
The purpose of this paper is to compare three different index construction methodologies of commercial property investments. We examine for different European countries (i) appraisal-based indices and methods of „unsmoothing“ the corresponding return series, (ii) indices that trace average ex-post transaction prices over time, and (iii) indices based on Real Estate Investment Trust share prices.
