Abstract:
This study analyzes if the implementation of TQM practices and the business performance are factors which describe ISO 9000 certified companies into the Spanish furniture industry. It also analyzes the positive relationship between TQM practices and business performance. The results of the analysis carried out into the aforementioned industry show that ISO 9001:2000 certified companies apply TQM practices at a higher level than non-certified companies. Likewise, certified companies achieve higher quality performance than non-certified companies. All the TQM practices are positively related with quality performance, but only some practices are directly related with operational performance and profitability.
