Zusammenfassung:
Organisational performance depends on the fit between several variables. Scholars from different fields have extensively defended this statement. Nevertheless, nowadays the concept of fit is still unclear and there is a lack of accurate definitions. This ambiguity prevents the researchers from empirically confirm the previous claim. The aim of this study is to overcome this problem. To achieve this purpose, we review the literature and identify different definitions that specify the generic idea of fit. Furthermore, we relate each of these definitions to the analytical procedure that is most appropriate to its operationalism, together with the defended theoretical proposition. The integration of these three elements (definition, methodology and hypothesis) allows us to rigorously delimit this concept.
