Abstract:
Abstract (Translated):
Instead of social policy and labour market policy, the talk now is increasingly of risk management. For its proponents, this term helps to introduce management techniques from business or finance economics into social policy and labour market policy; for its critics, it is a Trojan horse serving to infuse neoliberal princi-ples, especially privatization and deregulation into these policy areas. For this essay, however, the term 'risk management' that has infiltrated the public domain provides a 'moral opportunity' to look for a new balance between individual re-sponsibility and solidarity on the labour market.
