Abstract:
We conducted three studies (N=2000, N=425, N=1248) to explore preferences and willingness to pay for AI-generated music. Listeners could not distinguish AI from human-made songs and slightly preferred AI music when unaware of its origin. However, disclosing AI involvement reduced appreciation and willingness to pay, with effects varying by genre and individual attitudes toward AI.
