Abstract:
Our paper analyzes whether a longer working life causally increases institutionalized health investments. We provide empirical evidence of an increased willingness to participate in health investments to enhance work capacity, particularly among individuals with poor health status. However, we do not find evidence of the realization of these health investments, which is not driven by increased application rejections or individual decision-making, but by institutional capacity constraints.
