Abstract:
Large firms currently lead the way in AI adoption, suggesting that there is an inclusiveness issue in which SMEs are being left behind. Robust digital infrastructure and specialized in-house ICT skills are the primary catalysts for AI technology adoption. AI technologies are positively correlated with increased foreign sales per employee among firms that adopt them • The benefits of AI-related technologies are not uniform: robotics mostly impacts manufacturing, while big data drives the services sector. Synergies between multiple digital technologies magnify overall export performance gains.
