Abstract:
This study analyzes the evolution of the quality of race information reported in the Rais and Novo Caged databases, with an emphasis on the impacts of the transition to the eSocial system and the consequences of the recent closure, in 2024, of the race field "not reported". In addition, comparisons between the race data from Rais and Continuous PNAD are resumed, with the first comparison focusing on public sector workers. The conclusions obtained are that, as a rule, there is a temporal evolution in the quality of the data reported, although there are limitations in specific sectors that should be taken into account by interested analysts. Finally, strategies are recommended that could improve the reporting process, such as the development of automated data auditing tools and the incorporation of digital self-identification mechanisms by workers.
