Abstract (Translated):
This paper presents briefly the state of play on the implementation of the Pact on Migration and Asylum, and highlights the main difficulties and challenges faced by the European states (the Member States and the Schengen associated countries) who agreed to implement it. In less than a year, the national asylum systems have to comply with the new norms and standards and function seamlessly, like a Swiss watch. Coordination, cooperation (between the European states, the Commission and EU agencies, like EUAA, Frontex and euLISA) and efficiency appear to be the new watchwords in the endeavour to build an integrated system of migration management on the European continent.
