Zusammenfassung (übersetzt):
This study proposes financial education as a key factor in promoting retirement planning, analyzing the case of certified quinoa producers in the Southern Altiplano of Bolivia. Interviews and a diagnostic survey were conducted to inquire about their pension savings practices, their levels of financial literacy and the conditions of life in old age in their communities. It revealed a low incidence of long-term savings, mainly due to the lack of financial and pension education. Given this situation, the study designed and implemented a pilot intervention to strengthen this knowledge. The effects were remarkable: participants showed a better understanding of the pension system and a greater willingness to plan for their retirement. The impact was particularly noticeable among women, who improved their knowledge and ability to develop savings plans, thus reducing the gender gap in financial literacy.
