Abstract (Translated):
This work evaluate both the position and trend of the com petitiveness of Mexican chicken meat carcass against the external supply, and the relationship between this commercial advantage, production and national export allowing to propose strategies that leverage the poultry production in the medium term. To achi eve this goal, four competitiveness indicators were calculated taking into account the procedure applied by the Inter - American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture and, the degree of association between variables, was determined through the Pearson coe fficient. The volume of chicken meat primary supply positions Mexico at the sixth place worldwide, while as an exporter, it is placed in position fifty - one; it was found that export of this meat has Hong Kong and Vietnam as his majority target markets; tha t domestic poultry production has a low level of competitiveness in the international market; and that on the production and exports behavior of Mexican chicken meat influences factors that are linked with the characteristics of the market and the commerci al process, as well as with the sanitary context of world´ s livestock, which determine both poultry productivity, as the generation of exportable balances of carcass meat and value for the country´ s economy.
