Abstract:
Weltweite Krisen wie die Corona-Pandemie und der Angriff Russlands auf die Ukraine sowie die Reaktionen darauf haben starke Auswirkungen auf Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft. Angesichts der mit der Bewältigung solcher Krisen verbundenen Herausforderungen stellt sich die Frage, wie und wie schnell die amtliche Statistik auf solche Entwicklungen reagieren und notwendige Daten bereitstellen kann. Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick darüber, welche Reaktionen im Zuge der Programmplanung möglich sind. Er nimmt zudem Maßnahmen zur Steigerung der Flexibilität in der Statistikproduktion in den Fokus und beschreibt, wie die statistischen Ämter in Deutschland und Europa in diesen Krisenzeiten zusammenarbeiten.

Global crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic and Russia's attack on Ukraine and the reactions to them have a major impact on the economy and society. In view of the challenges involved in managing such crises, the question arising here is how, and how quickly, official statistics can react to such developments and provide the data required. This article gives an overview of the possible reactions within the scope of programme planning. It also focuses on measures aimed at enhancing flexibility in statistics production and describes how the statistical institutes in Germany and Europe cooperate in these times of crisis.
