Abstract: 
Robert Wilson und Paul Milgrom erhielten am 10. Dezember 2020 den Preis der Schwedischen Nationalbank für Wirtschaftswissenschaften zu Ehren von Alfred Nobel. Die Ökonomen erhielten den Preis für ihre Beiträge zur Auktionstheorie und für die Entwicklung neuer Auktionsformate.
Abstract (Translated): 
This article summarises the research of the 2020 Nobel laureates in economic sciences, Robert Wilson and Paul Milgrom, who received the prize for improvements to auction theory and inventions of new auction formats. The two economists have not only advanced auction theory, but also used their results to developed new auction formats that have globally substituted other means of resource allocation to the benefit of buyers, sellers and taxpayers around the globe.
