Abstract: 
The purpose of this research study is to examine the importance of the total com- pensation model in family business as an essential element for human resources management, in line with the organisation's strategic management, in order to optimise organisational behaviour. This is based on the useful and efficient use of different compensation tools and methods, taking into consideration both the differences and common aspects of family busi- nesses with regard to other type of companies, as well as their size.
