Abstract:
Abstract (Translated):
Economic Scenario Generators (ESGs) have become indispensable tool for the risk management of insurance companies. Because of the long term nature of life insurance business life insurers use ESGs for value based management. With the introduction of Solvency II on January 2016, more and more ESGs are implemented to calculate the solvency capital requirement (SCR). Stochastic capital market models are at the core of any ESG. The model assumptions and especially the calibration of the models enable a large variety of applicable ESG-versions. The symposium makes proposals to evaluate the quality of an ESG."Liquidity (risk-) Management" is the second key topic of the symposium. Liquidity is the ability of a company to comply with payment obligation at any time and to full extent. Above all liquidity risk arises from illiquid assets but also from the uncertainty of insurance liabilities with respect to due time and amount. Methods to manage liquidity and the liquidity risk are presented and discussed at the symposium.
