Zusammenfassung (übersetzt):
The text discusses the territory as an instrument of public policies. Normally, the production of the territory mobilizes technical instruments, but also erases the complex course followed by the social and cultural dimension of that production. The nation and the units of administrative organization are stabilized, their production and arbitrary traits erased, and the resulting artifact treated as universal or simply stabilized and fixed. The work here is not deconstructive, but it intends to follow different cartographies present in Brazilian social thought. The analysis based on the texts of recognized authors, Mário de Andrade, Sérgio Buarque de Holanda and Caio Prado Júnior, does not have the concern of exegesis or decipherment, but the re-composition of movements, styles and ideas that configure different symbolic territories, called "cartography".
