Abstract:
The concept of sustainable development has been the most widely accepted concept of development in recent years. Its popularity has made it difficult to imagine a strategy paper not containing a reference to it. Because the concept of sustainable development is difficult to define, different understandings of the concept can be found in strategy papers. Some strategies refer directly to a definition of sustainable development, which can be found in these strategies, while others refer to concepts deriving from sustainable development. This article aims to present the way sustainable development is understood in Polish country strategy papers. Individual documents have been analysed in order to verify the way in which they refer to the concept of sustainable development.
