Zusammenfassung (übersetzt):
Brazil continues as one of the largest producers of beef, pork and chicken. In terms of fish production, the performance is lower than expected, presenting low insertion in the domestic and international markets. Since 2004, national aquaculture production (particularly Tilapia) has grown 14.2% a year, emerging as an activity in the meat production chain. Even with this positive trend, there are challenges of developing the production chain as a whole to sustainable growth. Despite the difficulty of obtaining statistical data, studies that analyze the evolution of the sector and the productive development of the activity are necessary to draw future diagnoses and scenarios for the planning of public policies. This text aims to make an assessment of the activity in Brazil, especially analyzing the perspectives of productive growth.
