Zusammenfassung (übersetzt):
Thanks to a joint effort of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) and the National Pension Insurance Directorate (ONYF) a special survey conducted in January-March 2008 provided information - for the first time - on the total accrual years of the non-pensioner population of Hungary. The data base was created by supplementing the CSO's Labour Force Survey (wave 2008 January-March) with data on the respondent's labour market histories as registered at the ONYF. The data allows the study of work histories dating back to 1958 as well as the estimation of models explaining the variations in cumulated accrual years. Unlike the administrative data sets the KSH-ONYF Survey contains information on important covariates like education and family status. The paper was commissioned by the Roundtable on Pensions and Old-Age People, a think-tank working on the present and future problems of the pension system. The paper is organised so as it can provide useful information for the modelling work undertaken by the Roundtable.
