Abstract (Translated):
One of the Brazilian diplomatic traditions is to participate in peacekeeping operations. Peacekeeping operations are legitimate tools for conflict solutions used by continuously the country's foreign policy since the begging of the United Nations. This work is an attempt to understand the major aspects of the Brazilian participation in peacekeeping operations; also it attempts to organize a possible path of the State participation in peacekeeping operations. Firstly, it tries to understand the main investments and how they were used. Secondly, it aims to identify reasons which motivate Brazilian contribution for peacekeeping operations. Thirdly, it concludes with the challenges of a likely strategy for peacekeeping operations participation according to universal diplomacy and a real model of international sovereignty action.
