Abstract:
Abstract (Translated):
This article illustrates the results of a survey analysing the assignment of responsibility concerning the Balanced Scorecard [BSC] either to the management or to the management accounting department. It can be shown in a first step that the management has got a dominating role in most of the companies, what signalises that the BSC is interpreted as a nearly pure management instrument. Looking, in a second step, a little bit closer at the data by using a cluster analysis, the existence of heterogeneous approaches concerning the assignment of the tasks could be detected.. Within the participants a group of companies can be elaborated, which give the management accounting department a leading role in the area of the BSC.
