| Abstract (Translated): | | This article presents an analytical reformulation of the Marshall-Lerner condition under the assumption that, in open economies where the share of exports or flows of imports relative to GDP is high, the independence between GDP and the exchange rate cannot be applied. The analytical model attempts to explain the potential impacts of exchange rate devaluation on the trade balance, by decomposing the total effect according to the degree of simultaneity between exports and imports flows. |
